It heats up well, it's waterproof but if it's very cold you end up feeling cold because it passes through the gaps, but then you just need to use two cloth gloves and the only thing that gets colder is the thumb. I hope it holds up in the snow because that's what we bought it for.

I don't want to see the string dangling around either.
